WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
The Weight We Carry is a three-part virtual psycho-educational workshop designed specifically for African American women. This series explores the impact of historical racial trauma, intergenerational survival patterns, and the Strong Black Woman/Superwoman role while providing participants with practical tools for self-compassion, emotional wellness, healthy boundaries, and sustainable strength.
Participants will gain insight into how historical and cultural experiences continue to influence present-day beliefs, coping patterns, relationships, and overall well-being. The workshop combines psycho-education, guided reflection, interactive exercises, and practical strategies that support healing and growth.
TARGET AUDIENCE
African American women ages 18 and older who are interested in:
Understanding historical and intergenerational trauma.
Exploring the impact of the Strong Black Woman/Superwoman role.
Developing healthier coping strategies.
Improving self-compassion and emotional wellness.
Learning practical boundary-setting skills.
Prioritizing healing, rest, and sustainable self-care.
